Colour

Lind has a great love of colour that shows in her sparkling canvases. In "The Lesson", the wide gold border plays a major role in the colour scheme, as parts of the figures emerge from it. The mother and child stand out against a glowing background of intricate panels.

The predominant colours of this painting are gold and multi-shades of blue. The accents are red, pink and white, with smaller areas of green and purple.

These colours create a jewel-like quality which can be further enhanced with a picture light.
